“Loving Like Christ”♥
1 John 4: 7-8
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love”
As people of faith we should have an understanding of what “Loving Like Christ” looks like in our daily lives. However as human beings it’s not always that simple. That’s why it’s important to ask God to examine our hearts and show us what we need to change.
I learned this personally by going through an experience with someone who is very dear to me. There were some feelings of anger and resentment in my heart and it was very tormenting for me. It wasn’t until I prayed for God to examine my heart and ONLY then was I able to be in TRUE peace with my loved one and treat them with love and kindness opposed to anger & resentment.
Feelings and emotions are a natural part of life, we all have experienced the best and worst of them. We don’t always respond in a Christ like manner when things go wrong or when we become upset. In my case I have way more experience of being heathen than a person of faith lol! That’s why daily repentance is important in our spiritual walk.
