Fasting from Toxic Relationships
Author, Cassandra Mack
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone”
The last section of the Soul Fast workbook deals with fasting from toxic people. I love this workbook for several reasons. It’s more than a workbook, it is a reference tool that can be used over and over again! The referenced bible scriptures and personal insights adds more value to the workbook!
The Soul Fast Workbook consists of four sections:
- The Mind: Fasting from toxic thoughts
- The Heart: Fasting from toxic emotions
- The Will: Fasting from toxic counterproductive choices
- Our Relationships: Fasting from toxic relationships
In the beginning of the relationship section of the book, Ms. Mack shares a story about the manifestation of envy among two friends. Both individuals work and have jobs, one friend starts to evolve and grow in her career. The other one is stagnant and becomes jealous and envious. The envy becomes more apparent, poisoning the relationship.
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”
We all have different relationships with the people in our lives. It’s not always feasible to end or disengage from toxic relationships, especially if it’s a family member or a co-worker. The daily exercise in this portion of the workbook offers a prayer suggestion when it comes to toxicity in these type of relationships; Love from a distance or restructure the relationship.
If you are seeking clarity and a peace of mind, I would highly suggest this workbook. You can order on amazon at https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=soulfast+workbook
